Lakhpati Didi Yojana 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is running Lakhpati Didi Yojana to make the women of the country self-reliant. This is an ambitious scheme of the Central Government to promote women empowerment. On the occasion of 77th Independence Day, PM Modi had said from the ramparts of the Red Fort that taking women power forward has been our aim from the beginning. Our target is to create 2 crore Lakhpati Didis. However, the Modi government has decided to increase the target of Lakhpati Didi Scheme from 2 crore to 3 crore in the interim budget 2024.
What is Lakhpati Didi Scheme?
To avail the benefits of this scheme, it is necessary for women to be associated with a self-help group. At present there are about 83 lakh self-help groups in the country. About 9 crore women are associated with them. Under Lakhpati Didi Yojana, women associated with women self-help groups are given financial and skill development training by the government. Due to which she becomes financially independent. Through this they get help in increasing their income. Due to which she can become a millionaire.
How will women become millionaires?
Under Lakhpati Didi Yojana, women are taught many types of skills including making LED bulbs. During training, women are also given tips to start their own business. In which information about business plan, marketing, budget, saving and investment is given through workshops to provide information about the financial sector. Along with this, the use of technology including digital banking services, mobile wallet and phone banking is also explained.
Eligibility for the scheme
- Women between 18 to 50 years can apply for this scheme.
- It is important for women to join some self-help group.
- Women should have a plan to start a business. There should also be necessary documents.
- Process to take loan under Lakhpati Didi Yojana:
- To take loan under Lakhpati Didi Yojana, women will first have to apply in their regional self-help group office. For which they will have to submit the business plan along with the necessary documents. Women are given loans after reviewing their applications.
