Prime Minister Kusum Scheme
Pradhan Mantri Kusum Yojana was launched in 2019 to provide electric energy and water security to farmers . Under this scheme, subsidy is provided to farmers for installing solar pumps. This is a flagship scheme of the Government of India. Through this, farmers are given 90% subsidy on installing solar pumps in their fields. Through this, a target has been set to install solar pumps in the fields of 35 lakh farmers.
The farmer can earn profit by selling the extra electricity obtained from the solar panel to government or non-government departments. Through this, the farmer will get relief from electricity bills as well as a source of additional income.

Benefits of PM Kusum Yojana

PM Kusum Yojana Online Application
- To apply online for Pradhan Mantri Kusum Yojana, first visit its official website www.pmkusum.mnre.gov.in .
- Now select the option of Pradhan Mantri Kusum Yojana on the home page of the website.
- An application form will open in front of you.
- In this application form, general information will be asked from you like name, address, mobile number, Aadhar card number etc.
- Enter the information carefully.
- Now scan and upload the documents required for the application.
- After the documents are uploaded, submit the form.
- After submission, a receipt for registration in PM Kusum Yojana will open in front of you.
- Take a printout of this receipt and keep it safe.
- Now your application will be checked and after that physical verification of your land will be done by the government official.
- After physical verification, you will have to deposit 10% of the total cost of the solar pump.
- Now after a prescribed procedure, a solar pump will be installed in your farm.

Offline Application Process for Kusum Yojana
For those farmers who are unable to apply online for Pradhan Mantri Kusum Yojana, the facility of applying offline in this scheme has also been made available-
- For this, first go to your nearest Kisan Seva Kendra or Agriculture Department .
- Get a copy of the application form from the officer concerned with the scheme there.
- Fill the requested information in this application form carefully.
- After filling the information, attach one photocopy of each document required for the application with the form.
- You can also take help from the Agriculture Department for this work.
- Every type of problem arising in the application will be resolved.
- Now submit the application form to the department.
- In the further process, your application form and documents will be checked.
- After this, physical verification of your land will be done and 10% of the total cost will be deposited from you.
- After a prescribed procedure, a solar pump plant will be installed in your farm.
